The Creative and Media Diploma




Welcome to the Creative and Media Diploma




The Creative and Media Diploma is a qualification designed to equip you with the necessary creative knowledge, skills and understanding required to progress in this broad industry. It will allow you to combine a number of disciplines relating to various employment sectors of the creative and media industry.



The aim of the qualification is to develop creativity and confidence in the ability to think, question, explore, create and communicate.

2D Visual Art
3D Visual Art
Graphic Design
Product Design
Fashion
Drama
Advertising
Textiles
Footwear
Audio and Radio
Interactive Media
Animation




Interactive Media
Animation
Film
Photo Imaging
Television
Music
Computer Games
Creative Writing
Craft
Dance
Publishing and printing (from 2009)

You will study a total of seven units over the period of two years:




Unit 1: Scene
Unit 2: Performance
Unit 3: Artefact
Unit 4: Record
Unit 5: Campaign
Unit 6: Festival
Unit 7: Project Report (based on one of the above
units)




You will also need to complete 10 days work experience within the media arts industry.



Blogger will be your best friend for the duration of the course. You will use it in the following ways:





  • To record your research and upload evidence for your
    portfolio.


  • To access assignment briefs.


  • To access deadlines and details of important milestones in the
    course.


  • To access resources that will help you meet the specified learning
    objectives for each unit of principle learning.
